Mr LA having a burger at Roosevelt Hotel

We just went for lunch at the infamous historic Roosevelt Hotel - that's the place Mr LA introduced in his movie!

Last two days in Hollywood Hills

I've been staying at my friend's house during the last week in LA. It's been amazing and I'm so grateful for an unforgettable hospitality. The next couple of nights I'm going to stay in a hotel around the corner before going to Kauai. My other friend Lori booked me at Hollywood Hills Hotel which is supposed to be popular amongst artists and musicians and they've got the popular 101 Café at the ground floor. Sounds great!

Can't believe I did this...

So...woke up 5 am this morning and got my cameras and stuff packed for skydiving and wakeboarding. Think I got about 4 hours sleep but wasn't tired at all...probably that's what happens when you've got adrenaline pumping in your blood like a chased rabbit.

Mr LA picked us up at the house, and we drove for about one and a half hour to Skydive Elsinore.

When we arrived at Elsinre we met up with Joel - the action man. Our Hero and a friend of Mr LA. He was really cool with us, and made us slightly more relaxed than when we arrived. After some instructions ("fly like a banana"), signing tons of papers - where we promised to not sue anyone whatever would happen - they let us into the plane.

The whole thing got kind of surreal. I couldn't grasp that I was in an airplane about to jump. When we reached 12 000 feet (3600 m) we were ready. My instructor Joel linked himself on my back and we went to the edge. You know the feeling of looking out of the window when you're up in a regular airplane? Well, that's how it was. The height was abstract. When we leaped over the edge and jumped it felt like jumping from a rooftop - you fall straight down reaching about 155 miles/hr (250 km/hr). It was truly amazing. My fear transformed into joy, and when we pulled the string to unfold the parachute it was true beauty. Silent and slow. We were probably flying for about 4 minutes, before making a soft landing. Thank You Joel & Mr LA! :)

Skydiving - yeaaaahhhhhhh!!!

Wakeboarding after Skydiving

After the skydive we went wakeboarding in a lake nearby, in between LA and San Diego. It was much harder than I thought to get up on the board, it didn't manage the wakeboard first, so I tried a small surfboard where you don't have to stick your feet into wakeboard shoes. Once I got the hang of it and could stand up on the board, it was really fun! Have to sleep away the adrenalin now...nite.

How do you get to sleep before jumping out of a plane?

Today was great! It started off going to the buddhist center on the motorbike with a friend, and on the way there we heard a weird noise from the wheel. So he stopped to check it and realized that 9 out of 10 screws fell of from the thing that attaches the chain to the wheel. So we were basically one screw from having a pretty nasty accident. After that we celebrated life, and in the afternoon I filmed Mr LA at the pool, talking about some very "spiritually advanced stuff" (coming up soon!), because that's what they do here in LA. Tomorrow I'm gonna go parachuting with some superman from Point Break (remember?) so I'm kind of nervous. Let's cross our fingers! ;)

This is the video: "Åsa is touching a surfboard"

I know you won't believe that I was out on this board for two hours, and don't ask me what I did out there 'cause my photographer had better things to to in the meantime. Anyway, this is my only proof that I touched a surfboard, ok?

Wimbledon next

Just practising a bit for next years worldcup.

Back to town

We stayed over night in Malibou and woke up the next morning having a great Ashtanga Yoga session with a very spiritually advanced yoga teacher who prefered to sleep on a mat on the floor. We were really impressed by that. Mr LA and I were a bit out of yoga shape, so she had to help us out a bit before we got the hang of it. I think it worked, cause today I have incredably sored muscles.

Then we had a wonderful home made super organic breakfast at the house, before heading for the beach again. This time I got a surf expert to help me out on the board. He taught me how to paddle stand up style. At first the only thing I was thinking about was that they spotted a great white shark outside Malibou beach a few days ago, but after a while I got the hang of it and lost track of time and space. When the sun was about to set and I was still out there people started to think that I was paddling to LA, so I returned in order to calm them down. After another fantastic dinner, we left Malibou for LA.

Funk Fest in Malibou

Funk Fest on the beach.

Me and Gibbo on the beach in Malibou listening to Morris Day, SOS Band, Midnight Star, ConFunkShun...all at the same time I guess. We had a really slow start of the day, having breakfast in West Hollywood, trying to get our stuff together with bicykles, car, dog, motorcykle, swimmingtrunks and all. We finally arrived to some friend's house in Malibou in the afternoon. After a few hours on the beach swimming, surfing, eating, drinking, we went for a house party having the most amazing vegan dinner - I can't even explain how good it was - ending the night watching the stars.
